KATHMANDU, NOV 11 - The Nepalis are celebrating Laxmi Puja the third day of Tihar festival.

The Tihar is celebrated as Diwali in India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and other countries having major community of Hindus. This is known as the festival of lights and the people enjoy during the festival by lighting Dios, candles and lamps outside their homes, which symbolizes the victory of light over darkness.

Today people worship cow which is considered as the goddess Lamxi the goddess of wealth. And the people clean their dishes, houses and adorn with flowers. In the evening time they light candles and lamps as to welcome the goddess of wealth Laxmi.

People worship goddess offering fruits,flowers,incense, lamps keeping notes and coins in Nanglo (a round woven tray made up of bamboo).

Nepalese in UK to protest against the India's blockade

KATHMANDU, NOV 11 - The Nepalese people living in UK are going to stage protest against the unofficial blockade of India in Nepal.

The Nepalese people living in UK have scheduled to gather on Wednesday for agitation against the ongoing blockade of India, while the Indian Prime Minister Naredra Modi's visit in UK. The event is taking place at parliament square in London.

The Nepalese at London have urged with all Nepalese people living in UK to get together to protest against the India's economic blockade in Nepal.

They have shared a blog in Facebook insisting with all fraternities, "It is not accepted the India's blockade citing discontent with Nepal's constitution, which is internal matter of Nepal. The interference of India is not accepted anymore."

They have expressed worry towards the situation created after the shortage of fuel, medicine and other daily needs due to blockade of India in Nepal.

Prime minister Oli not to address the Nepalese

KATHMANDU, NOV 10 - The program scheduled for the Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to address the citizens today has been postponed.

According to the press coordinator Pramod Dahal of Prime Minister, the program scheduled for today to address the nation has been adjourned for near future or may be after Tihar.

After the promulgation of new constitution the new government of Prime Minister Oli completed a month. Which consists of 32 ministers of cabinet including himself.

The program is said to have extended after the India did not show intention to stop ongoing unofficial economic blockade. The event was scheduled for Sunday after the India gestured to stop blockade and the Oli had scheduled to address the nation with the programs and policies of his government.

According to the source the Prime Minister Oli will address the nation only after the termination of India's unofficial blockade.

The first day of festival Tihar is being observed

KATHMANDU, 9 NOV - Today is the first day of the Tihar festival (Diwali) of the Hindus, which is said to be Kaag(Crow) Tihar.

The festival of lights is celebrated in the countries and communities having majority of Hindus people. In India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and other society it is generally celebrated as Diwali. Meanwhile, it is celebrated as Tihar in Nepal which has 95% of Hindus.

The five days of festival starts from Trayodashi of Kartik Krishna to Kartik Sukla Dwitiya every year. The first days is Kaag (Crow) Tihar, Second day is Kukur (Dog) Tihar, Third day is Gai (Cow) Tihar, Fourth Gobardhan Puja and Fifth Day is Bhai Tika. The occasion is celebrated by worshiping, playing deusi Bhailo, putting tika and eating varieties meeting together with relatives and mates.

In the first day of Tihar people worship of Crow by feeding it. They put items for crow in the roof of the houses and branch of trees. Generally, cawing of crow is considered as the symbol of grief of sadness in the Hindu community, so as to avert sadness and grief in their homes they request for good message with crow by offering feeds and dishes on this special occasion.

The NOC authorizes NAC for aviation fuel supply

KATHMANDU, OCT 13 - The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has allowed to supply aviation fuel to the Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC).The NOC deputy executive director Sushil Bhattarai informed that the meeting of NOC management committee held on Tuesday decided so.

The NOC had called for the global tender on Thursday for supplying the petroleum products from the international market after the Indian Oli Corporation halted supplying of fuel following the unofficial blockade of India in Nepal.

According to the NOC, 23 various firms and companies had responded to the call including Indian Oil Corporation. Whereas, the NOC has accepted the intend of NAC for supplying the aviation fuel.

The decision to let the company for supplying petrol and diesel is yet to finalize though the NOC allowed NAC for aviation fuel.

In the tender notice the NOC has mentioned that the supply can be done from any country using any route.

All petrol stations in the capital distributing fuel

KATHMANDU, OCT 12 - The petrol stations are distributing petrol and diesel in Kathmandu Valley Today from 3 Pm.

More tan 125 petrol pumps in the Valley are rendering fuel to all two-wheeler and four-wheeler private vehicles. When the motorcycles are getting 5 litters and other vehicles are getting 15 litters of oil from the stations.

The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) had halted to provide fuel to the private vehicles just after a week of undeclared blockade of India in Nepal. But the NOC has further decided to avail the fuel for all vehicles by quota system. According to the chief of NOC at Thankot Depo  Rabin Kumar Sharma, it has been managed to distribute fuel by all petrol pumps in the valley to make easy for transportation in the upcoming Dashain festival.

He said," All Petrol stations will distribute fuel from Tuesday 3pm," Costumer fill fuel bringing the bill book of vehicle."

He urged with the costumers to bring bill book compulsory as to follow the system of NOC of stamping the logo of NOC in bill book after filling fuel.

Indian Prime Minister Congratulates PM Oli

KATHMANDU, OCT 12 - The Indian Prime Minister Naredra Modi has congratulated the newly elected Prime Minister of Nepal Khadga Prasad Oli.

The CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli was elected as the new Prime Minister of Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal on Sunday. He was elected with a majority vote of 338 votes among the 597 parliament members. The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Prime Minister Oli on Phone call. Modi also invited the new Prime Minister Oli to visit for India. The Prime Minister Oli also shared his hardships on the undeclared trade blockade in Nepal, unrest of  Madhes and Nepal- India border.

The Chinese ambassador  to Nepal Chuntai also congratulated the PM Oli meeting him at CPN-UML party office where the PM Oli had moved after the election.

KP Oli elected as new Prime Minister

KATHMANDU, OCT 12 - The Communist Party of Nepal - Unified Marxist Leninist (CPM-UML) Chairman Khadga Prasad (KP) Oli has been elected as the new prime minister of Nepal on Sunday.

In the race of Prime Ministerial post with Congress President Sushil Koirala he was elected with 338 votes out of 597 members in the parliament. He was able to hoard such a majority votes of 338 with the collaboration of UCPM-(Maoist), RPPN and other small fringe parties and has become the 38th Prime Minister of Nepal.

He was born in 1952 as oldest son on the lap of mother Madhu Oli and father Mohan Prasad Oli in eastern district Terathum. He has spent two decades of his life in political. His political life has the experience of Jhapa's movement to democracy protest against the monarchy in 1990 and 2006.

On July 15, 2014 he became the Chairman of CPN-UML defeating the another senior leader and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal.

A young Nepali actreess Anna Sharma

Bollywood movies banned in Nepal

KATHMANDU, SEPT 28- The CPN-(Maoist) led by Netra Birkam Chanda have initiated a campaign to ban Bollywood movies in Nepal.

The Chanda led Maoist have raised voice against the blockade of India in the transits of Nepal-India border. The Netra Bikram led party decided to ban the Hindi movies in Nepalese theaters from Monday as a withstand of the India's interference in Nepal.

The Maoist have also decided to forbid to distribute Indian channels from Nepali cable lines. The Maoist stood against the India citing that India tried to take benefit and self rapacity of the complex situation of Nepal by imposing blockade.

The vehicles with Indian number plate have also been banned to operate in Nepal. The party protested in front of Indian Embassy at Lainchour on Sunday noon. 

Home Minister Bamdev Gautam spill fury with Indian Government

KATHMANDU, SEPT 28- The Nepalis people are disgruntled with the Indian Government's declaration of blockade in supply for Nepal.

After the promulgation of new constitution in Nepal the Indian Government kept its interest in some points regarding typically the matter of Madhes. And instantly proposed for amendment of some points in the constitution, But the Nepali politicians didn't see necessary to correct it. As a result the Indian government declared blockade in the transits of Nepal- India border.

He warned the Indian Government that Nepal will not get shortage with the India's obstruction. He said," There are several alternatives we have, even if their blockade." We can consider airways for the supply." Gautam further said.

He urged with the Indian Government not to interfere as the problems of Madhes is Nepal's internal matter.

The vice chairman of UCPN-Maoist Baburam Bhattarai resigns from Party

KATHMANDU,SEPT 27- The Nepali media buzzed with a latest news about the resignation of Former Prime Minister and the Vice Chairman of UCPM-(Maoist) Dr. Baburam Bhattarai from his party.

Dr. Bhattarai declared to have resigned from his party amid a press conference in capital on Saturday. He retired from the 40-years old his political life and he is not even an ordinary member of his party UCPM-(Maoist). Bhattarai also resigns from the member of parliament.

Bhattarai said that he will now live as an ordinary people in the country. He said 'I declare that i have resigned from all the responsibilities, burdens and ordinary member of UCPN-(Maoist) with effect from today's date."
 He also vowed to stay serving for the sake of people till his life. He said," I will be dedicated in serving for the people's well being till i will be alive, but i can't tell what would be the form of serving for the people in the future."

He also presented his five point promise regarding the well being of country, society, people and the politics.
