Laxmi Puja is being celebrated

KATHMANDU, NOV 11 - The Nepalis are celebrating Laxmi Puja the third day of Tihar festival.

The Tihar is celebrated as Diwali in India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and other countries having major community of Hindus. This is known as the festival of lights and the people enjoy during the festival by lighting Dios, candles and lamps outside their homes, which symbolizes the victory of light over darkness.

Today people worship cow which is considered as the goddess Lamxi the goddess of wealth. And the people clean their dishes, houses and adorn with flowers. In the evening time they light candles and lamps as to welcome the goddess of wealth Laxmi.

People worship goddess offering fruits,flowers,incense, lamps keeping notes and coins in Nanglo (a round woven tray made up of bamboo).
